one year - four months = 8 months!

At this point, Jack is closer to one year old, than he is to being a new born baby.  That is weird.  His first birthday seemed, and still seems, light years away.  Progress is inevitable.  He is "army crawling" with specific technique which involves one arm that pulls the body forward, and the other arm seems to steady it and prop it up.  He gets himself from tummy to sitting, from sitting to tummy and forward, and often stops in between on hands and knees for a bit of rocking.  And if he gets in this position in front of our large mirror in the bedroom--sounds of delight!!

Adding tofu, quinoa, chicken, turkey, cherries, blueberries, and rice pancakes to the menu this last month and loving all of it.  Two bumps under the lower gums want to become teeth, but have not made their formal appearance yet.  Tiffany, Jack's nanny, takes him to two different story times at the libraries nearby, and also classes at Gymboree Play and Music.  It's great to have him out and about, being social and learning all kinds of cool things like...clapping!  Who knew?! (someone should write a book about parenting...)

Lots of chattering and laughing, and seems interested in all sounds going on around him.  We can also see him taking in our expressions and trying to figure out all these strange and complex emotions adults have.  Oh, and the 8-month old is wearing size 12-18 month clothes.  Solid as a rock.  Curious for next month's weigh-in.
