Biggest adventure yet came on Saturday, one day after Jack's 11-month birthday...STEPS! Like 4-5 of them!!! The irony lies in the fact that he was holding on to Granny Mary's cane when he decided to let go, balance, and then...step, step, step, step towards me!! We were so proud--many kisses and hugs and near tears for me. I was shocked!
So...at 11 months, Jack crawls every where, stands and walks while holding on, balances, and has taken a few independent steps! He's into bites of fresh mozzarella cheese, smoothies (with tofu and kale, of course), Cheerios, water in a straw cup, string cheese, graham crackers, and feeding it all to the pugs. Some of his favorite toys are ones that are not designated toys for babies. Such as the dishwasher, dog dishes, shoes, drawers and cupboards, toilet paper, and anyone wearing earrings.
We have discovered a cool indoor play area called Play Boutique where Jack gets to push around all kinds of toys, meet new friends, and just...PLAY. It seems silly, but in Oregon where playing outside doesn't happen all the time, and cabin fever sets in, it's just perfect.
He also seems to identify Ryan as "dada," and has lots to say in his own language. Laughing and smiling are his favorite. People can't get over how chill and friendly and happy he is. We couldn't be more proud. Really. (And the pictures are a testament to how active he is...tears in the only picture where he's holding still...)
