At four months Mr. Jack can roll from tummy to back, but more often from back to tummy. Loves grabbing at toys and putting them in his mouth, along with as many fingers as he can. He's a wild card at night for how many hours he'll sleep at a time, but sleeps very soundly when he his sleeping. At his four month check-up he weighed 16.8 lbs, and measured 27.5 inches long! That puts him in the 75 percentile for weight and the 99 percentile for height. Go boy! Oh...and LOTS of drool.

Newport
We had a terrific extended weekend (a benefit to this delayed working thing) at Nye Beach in Newport, hosted by the fabulous Granny Mary. Cousins and Aunts and Uncles joined in towards the weekend with Ryan, and we were lucky to keep the dry weather all through the weekend. And what did we arrive home to on Sunday in Portland? Rain! But this felt like the true end of summer to me, and now I welcome autumn with open arms! And Jack has some cute hats to wear!

A full labor day weekend
Zoo with Uncle Wes, and cousins Jacquelyn and Madelyn on Friday. Saturday a swim and nap with Grandpa, AND a victory for the Cougs!!! Sunday, a trip to Edgefield to see Ray LaMontagne and stay the night for a dip in Ruby's soaking pool in the morning. And finally, a first sighting of Dahlias in Canby on Monday. Phew. Tired. :)

aunties, and uncles, and cousins, oh my!
Summer celebration at Grammy Diane's over our anniversary weekend! Jack met his Demaray cousins; Maddy, Owen, and Mack, and got to be snuggled by aunts and uncles and friends. He also took his first dip in the pool and after an initial interpretation of the moment, decided it was pretty "cool." Ryan and I even got to sneak away for an anniversary breakfast on Saturday morning...six years and counting and loving every second of our marriage.
