fun things for the third trimester

A book for the good-humored and ready for sarcasm expectant parents.  Ryan and I laugh out loud on nearly every page!  Let's just say there's a chapter about creating a birth plan and they suggest, nay, demand the creation and use of a "birth totem."  'nough said.  Their website.

Spring Break in the Desert

We took a little trip south to Phoenix to visit Ryan's folks, Ed and Diane in their new retirement digs outside of Buckeye, AZ.  Go figure, it rained on us on one of the days, snow, in fact.  But alas, the sun came out enough for Ryan to get some golf swings in, and for me to "float" around the pool--pretty nice!!

The Renaissance Chair

What was once leather and "Hunter Green," is now covered and redesigned in a soft gray and white paisley and going to snuggle us and our little man for many many days.  Our "wizard" of a seamstress, Elise, whom we met on Craigslist (gasp!) has helped us with this project and crib bedding...so much fun!

Diving in...

Best pregnancy find of the month: aqua aerobics at 24-Hour Fitness!  I went last week and again tonight.  The best exercise I've done since being "really" pregnant.  There's no impact, and I can move more, and faster than I could on dry land.  PLUS, the company of the regulars is unbeatable!

note from Ryan

An email sent from Ryan's phone on Monday while on business in Sacramento.

Title of email: "Trees are blooming"
Text reads: "And all I can think of is you and our newborn son going for walks on a beautiful spring day. Love you"

I have the best one there is...

color

I have been wandering around the website, project nursery, for the last couple of weeks using real people's photos of their nurseries for inspiration.  Fun to see what people are doing!  And the colors!!!
The tutorial for the flags is HERE.
